Post It Brooch-Tutorial

Hiya all!

Well, I just made something today and wanted to share it with you all because its very easy to make and very cheap (or for free) :)

Well, we all use Post Its don't we. I had plenty of magazines at hand so I thought why not make a Post It Brooch, eh? Something different, right?

Ok, Now Step 1, Cut off strips from old mags or newspapers or whatever waste paper you have. Each strip should be approximately 3 cm wide and around 13-15 cm (or even more) long.

Ok, now for Step number 2, Keep on folding the strips of paper width wise.

Step 3 Continue Folding it twice or thrice.

Step 4 Now its time to roll! Don't forget to apply some glue in between so that it sticks.

Step 5 Make a few more and stick them together to make a flower and finally stick it on a Post It Pad or a Journal or Anything!

Tada!! And Im done!! Sorry if I bored you guys, this is my first tute! And sorry for the bad picture quality...I did the best I could and I promise I'll come up with something wayyyy better next time!!

See ya all! Love ya! :)

Recycled Crochet Mat

My Mom is a avid 'Crochet Fan'! She just needs a Crochet needle and...voila...she's made aomething! I had learnt the 'Art' of Crochet in school, but I never really liked it so much :p

Well, anyways, My mom made a beautiful crochet mat out of...Guess wat?... Rubbish!! I swear!! Let me explain!! We just got our Water Purifier cleaned by the maintenance guys and they replaced the 'Initial cotton filter tube' with a new one. My mom, just out of curiosity, opened the old tube, unwound the yards and yards of cotton twine from the tube and crocheted it into a mat!! Now thats what I call recycling!!  Isn't that Amazing!! My Mom got to fulfill her passion of crochet yet again, and my little kitten Shaggy just got a cotton mat to scratch! :p

Okkiey Dokkiey...Thats all for now!!

Ramadan

Ramadan is important for Muslims is because it is believed to be the month in which the first verses of the Holy Quran (the divine scripture) were revealed by Allah (God) to Prophet Muhammad (570-632 C.E.).

From time to time, Muhammad PBUH used to go out from Makkah, where he was born and where he worked as a caravan trader, to reflect
and meditate in solitude. Like Abraham before him, he had never accepted his people's worship of many gods, and felt a need to withdraw to a quiet place to reflect on the One God.

One night, while contemplating in a cave near Makkah, he heard a voice call out, telling him to "Read!" Muhammad protested that he was unable to read. The voice insisted again, and then a third time, and Muhammad found himself reciting the first verses of the Quran:

"Read, in the name of thy Lord, Who created–

Created man, out of a clot (embryo).

Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,

He Who taught the use of the pen–

Taught man that which he knew not.

Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds,

In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient.

Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all)." (ch.96: 1-8)

The voice was that of the angel Gabriel, and he confirmed that Muhammad was selected for an important and challenging mission–he was to call people to monotheism and righteousness.

Muslims consider the Quran to be God's speech recorded in the Arabic language, and transmitted to humanity through Muhammad, who is considered the last of the prophets.

This tradition of God-chosen prophets or messengers is believed to include such figures as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, and Jesus.

Muslims believe that over a period of twenty-three years, various verses and chapters of the Quran were revealed to Muhammad through Gabriel. The Quran is comprised of 114 chapters of varying length, with titles such as "Abraham," "The Pilgrimage," "Mary," and "Repentance."

During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset every day. This means not consuming food and drink, including water, during the daylight hours.

For married adults, it also includes refraining from marital relations during the hours of fasting (i.e. the daylight hours).

In the Arabic language, fasting is known as Sawm. Muslims arise early in the morning during Ramadan to have a pre-dawn breakfast meal, known as Suhoor. At the end of the day, the fast is completed by taking the Iftar meal, which usually includes dates, fresh fruits, appetizers, beverages and dinner.

Later in the evening, Muslims attend special nightly Tarawih prayers at their local Masjid.

Each night during Ramadan, approximately 1/30th of the Quran is recited in the Tarawih prayers, so that the entire scripture is recited in the course of the 29 or 30 days of the month.

Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq

Volume 3, Book 31, Number 121: 'Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever gives two kinds (of things or property) in charity for Allah's Cause, will be called from the gates of Paradise and will be addressed, 'O slaves of Allah! Here is prosperity.' So, whoever was amongst the people who used to offer their prayers, will be called from the gate of the prayer; and whoever was amongst the people who used to participate in Jihad, will be called from the gate of Jihad; and whoever was amongst those who used to observe fasts, will be called from the gate of Ar-Raiyan; whoever was amongst those who used to give in charity, will be called from the gate of charity." Abu Bakr said, "Let my parents be sacrificed for you, O Allah's Apostle! No distress or need will befall him who will be called from those gates. Will there be any one who will be called from all these gates?" The Prophet replied, "Yes, and I hope you will be one of them."

Oh Yes, Your'e in Love

Sometimes it just happens when your'e least expecting it.
The world rotates as always but your'e just not feeling it!
Every day, every night seem to bring a new delight-
And baby yes thats true, your'e in love yeah all right!

And the flowers seem to bloom and the stars seem to shine,
Your heart is full of joy and yet it seems to pine!
You wonder what is wrong, even though you know wat is
Why do you think of him all day, yes somethings sure amiss!

And baby yes thats true, your'e in love yeah alright!
The days seem to be new and glowy are your nights.
Every thought takes you to him as you follow all your whims-
You really start to wonder how you ever lived without him!

Love of my Life

Oh, Love of my life!
Will you be with me tonight?
As we watch the starry skies
Oh don't go out of my sight!

You bring me love and joy,
And make me smile all day!
Oh please don't go oh dear,
I've really longed for this day.

I want your hand to be in mine
As we walk along the grass.
With the silent breeze blowing by
Feels like Paradise at last!

Often when Im all alone,
Busy dreaming about you.
I wish you were by my side.
And we could walk over the moon..

Life

Life just seems to roll by me;
And I just can't keep track of it!
The world just seems to spin around
While Im trying to make my ends meet.

Why is my head so messed up?
What is all this clutter?
Why do people have to work so hard?
Just to earn some bread and butter.

The stars dont seem to shine tonight.
The moon just seems to wail!
All the colors seem to be blue tonight;
Oh, Life has become so stale!

When will all my wet tears dry??
When will the flowers bloom again??
I sure hope the Sun rises soon
And I can truly laugh not feign...

Go On...

There are some things that never change,
No matter how much you want them to.
There are some things that never heal,
No matter how much you try to.

They say life is a blesssing,
I never said they were not right,
Its just that I still have to come across,
Some Miracles that'll set this right.

There are some things that never change,
No matter how much you want them to.
There are some things that never heal,
No matter how much you try to.

One day the sun will rise again
And bring the shine that it always does
And you will get the joys and love
That you my love have always deserved.

No matter how much you try,
There'll still be poeple who will find fault.
The point is to go on Coz one day
You will prove them wrong...
